The Sabra styling guide for a sofa that feels finished — handwoven Moroccan texture, the anchor-statement-accent formula, and simple set pricing.
Not by the sofa. By the pillows. Matching sets from big-box stores flatten a room — the sofa reads “showroom,” not “home.” And the usual fix is drastic: a new sofa costs $2,000 or more.
Interior designers solve it differently. A curated pillow refresh changes how the whole room feels — for less than a tenth of the price of new furniture.
Three pillows with three different jobs beat five that match. This is the formula designers use on nearly every neutral sofa:
The largest, quietest piece. Around 20″, subtle texture, calm color. It grounds everything that follows.
18–20″, where the eye lands. Handwoven Berber motifs behave like modern graphic design — geometric, not busy.
Smaller or lumbar. It repeats a single tone from the statement piece and makes the trio feel intentional.
Flat printed cotton reflects light evenly — it reads mass-produced from across the room. Handwoven fabric catches light unevenly: slubs, sheen shifts, raised motifs.
That irregularity is what the eye reads as “expensive.” You cannot print it. It has to be woven — and in Morocco’s Sabra tradition, it still is, by hand, in small batches.
A beige or cream sofa asks for earth: a quiet linen anchor, a burnt-orange or terracotta statement, and a saffron or rust accent. Warm on warm, texture doing the talking.
Grey and charcoal sofas come alive with azure, ivory and soft blush — cool tones with one gentle warm echo. Keep the anchor pale, let the statement carry blue.
A white or ivory sofa can take one bold move: emerald, saffron or midnight. One jewel statement, two quiet companions — maximal effect, minimal risk.

Most pieces exist once. When a piece finds its home, it is gone — no reprints, no restocks of the same weave.
Each piece is individually sourced and documented for its texture, weave and origin before it ships.
Sabra — often called cactus silk — is a traditional Moroccan weave made from plant-based fiber with a natural, silk-like sheen. It is not animal silk; the luster comes from the fiber and the handweaving itself.
Expect a smooth hand with gentle texture from the loom — slubs, raised motifs, and a sheen that shifts with the light. That irregularity is the point: it cannot be printed.
Dry clean only — never water, which can affect the natural dyes. Day to day, a gentle shake or low-suction vacuum is all it needs. Full details in our Care Guide.

“I started TIGEMI because the pieces I grew up around in Morocco never felt like décor — they felt like someone’s hands. Every cover we ship is woven in a small batch, in the Sabra tradition, and most exist exactly once. I curate each Sabra Refresh the way I would style my own home: one anchor, one statement, one accent.”
“And because I know you are trusting a new atelier, every order carries our 30-Day Atelier Promise — try the look at home, and if it does not feel right in your space, we will help you exchange or return it.”

Sabra is a traditional Moroccan textile handwoven from plant-based fiber, prized for its natural texture and subtle, light-catching sheen. Each piece is made by hand in small batches, so no two are exactly alike.
No — and that is by design. Sabra is a plant-based “vegetable silk”: it contains no animal silk, yet carries a similar luster. If you avoid animal fibers, Sabra is a natural fit.
Slightly, yes — naturally dyed, handwoven textiles vary in color, weave, and texture from piece to piece and can render differently on screens. These variations are the signature of authentic handwork, and every piece is photographed individually.
Yes — Berber motifs are geometric, so they read as modern graphic design rather than folk clutter. Use the sofa color selector above: warm earth tones for beige and cream, azure and ivory for grey, one jewel tone for white sofas.
