Every Tigemi piece is hand-loomed in Morocco, then packed and shipped from our atelier with the same patience the loom asks of us. Below you’ll find the practical details — how long preparation takes, which carrier we work with, what shipping costs, and what to do if something goes wrong along the way. These terms apply to every order placed on tigemi.com.
Because the United States no longer offers a $800 de minimis customs exemption, every Tigemi shipment to the U.S. is subject to import duties, taxes, and carrier brokerage fees collected upon delivery. These charges are not included in the price displayed at checkout and are the sole responsibility of the recipient, who acts as the importer of record.
DHL Express will contact you before final delivery to request payment of the applicable duties and fees. Payment must be settled directly with the carrier — Tigemi never collects customs charges on your behalf.
Duties typically range between 10% and 25% of the declared product value, depending on the HS classification of the goods and current U.S. tariff schedules. Tigemi cannot pre-calculate or guarantee an exact amount because tariff rates can change without notice.
If you refuse to pay the customs charges, DHL Express will return, abandon, or destroy the parcel at its sole discretion. The consequences of refused charges are governed by our Refund Policy, which you should read before refusing a delivery.
By placing an order with Tigemi for delivery to the United States, you acknowledge that you have read and accepted this clause in full. Once your order is placed, our atelier prepares it within 24 hours (Monday–Friday, excluding Moroccan public holidays). Each item is inspected, hand-packed, and labeled before being handed to DHL Express.
During high-demand periods, dispatch may occasionally extend to the next business day. We will notify you promptly should any delay occur.

Delivery times are estimates provided by the carrier and may be affected by customs clearance, weather, strikes, or other circumstances outside our control.

As soon as your parcel is dispatched, you will receive an email containing your tracking number and a direct link to follow the shipment in real time. You can also track your order at any moment from your account page on tigemi.com.
Please allow up to 24 hours after dispatch for the first tracking update to appear in DHL Express’s system.
It is the customer’s responsibility to provide a complete and accurate delivery address at checkout, including apartment number, building, and any other detail required by the carrier.
If DHL Express is unable to deliver your parcel (recipient unavailable, refused delivery, unclaimed at a pickup point):

We will open an investigation with DHL Express and, once confirmed, arrange a free replacement or a full refund according to our Refund Policy.
For any future orders shipped outside the United States, customers remain responsible for complying with their own country’s import rules, duties, and taxes. Tigemi cannot be held liable for parcels seized, returned, or destroyed by customs authorities due to local restrictions on imported goods.
