Hand-dyed rafia in a deep, sun-soaked terracotta forms the canvas. Across it, organic glyph-like shapes are hand-appliquéd in natural écru and charcoal-black rafia — each shape cut, placed, and stitched edge-by-edge by hand. Designed by Meriem Chrrouhi, founder of Tigemi, and crafted by artisan women in Marrakech.
Provenance
Each TIGEMI piece is designed by Meriem Chrrouhi — drawn by hand before it ever meets a needle — and then crafted with a Marrakech women’s cooperative. The intersection of contemporary graphic design and inherited Moroccan craft is the foundation of every piece.
Rafia is a natural plant fiber with a rough, sculptural quality that catches light differently depending on how it is cut and stitched. Each appliquéd shape is placed by hand, creating a composition that cannot be exactly reproduced.

Styling Notes
Reads equally well as a textile collectible and as an everyday cushion. The warm terracotta and charcoal palette pairs naturally with raw wood, ochre, earth-toned textiles, and white walls. Display it where the texture and composition can be appreciated up close.
Care & Longevity
Spot clean only with a slightly damp cloth. Do not submerge in water. Rafia is a natural fiber that can lose rigidity if over-wetted. Keep away from prolonged direct sunlight to preserve color depth.
